Micronutrient fertilizer LURS® colofermin boron

LURS® colofermin boron is a concentrated boron micronutrient fertilizer in organic (easily digestible by plants) form for foliar feeding of field, vegetable and perennial crops.

*Colofermine is a multicomponent complexing agent (analogue of chelating agents), which consists of various organic compounds, optimally balanced for maximum absorption and plant uptake (up to 100%) of the corresponding nutrients (main active ingredient) in micronutrient fertilizers.

Depending on the type of micronutrient fertilizers, among other components, colofermin may contain colamine, various complexes of amino acids, micronutrients, including nitrogen, sulfur, sodium in sufficiently high concentrations (up to 280 g/L). Therefore, colofermin also serves as an additional source of plant nutrition.

Due to the above-mentioned factors, our formulations are more effective than the ones, produced by our competitors, even if they have a little higher concentration of an active ingredient.

LURS® colofermin boron eliminates effectively boron deficiency in plants. It does not contain any ballast additives, so it does not cause leaf burn, is completely absorbed through the leaf surface of plants.

Boron is involved in pollen germination and growth of the fruits, so when there is a deficiency in it, seed production of plants sharply reduces.

Boron is a necessary component of the plasma membrane. It plays an extremely important role in the protein synthesis. Boron scarcity results in disruption of outflow of plastic substances, foremost sugar from leaves.

Crops, which require boron the most, are sugar beets, potatoes, sunflowers, rapeseed, flax, legumes, vegetables, alfalfa and spiked cereals.

Sod-podzol, gray and brown forest soils are poor in boron. Reduction of boron uptake also occurs in acidic (calcareous) soils. Boron deficiency is enhanced with the application of nitrogen fertilizers in excessive amounts when there is moisture deficit.

A typical display of distortion due to the lack of boron is dieback of apical points, which is associated with the accumulation of toxic phenols. This process progresses more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Root system is poorly developed, as boron plays a significant role in its development. There is a cessation of root and stem growth, then there is a chlorosis of the top of apical point, and later, if there is a strong boron deficiency, it dies back completely. Lack of boron particularly affects reproductive organs of plants, barren flowers appear and a fruit drop takes place.

LURS® colofermin boron should be applied to eliminate the symptoms of boron deficiency and in order to prevent diseases. In this case, pollen germinates better; shedding of fruit stops and development of the reproductive organs is enhanced. When applying the formulation preventively, sugar content in sugar beet and fruit as well as starch content in potatoes increase.

The liquid micronutrient fertilizer is ready for immediate use. While observing the storage conditions, it does not crystallize and can be applied in a wide range of temperatures, starting from +5 °C.

Compatibility: LURS® colofermin boron performs well in tank mixes with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and biological preparations. Prior to starting preparation of a tank mix, always check the formulations for compatibility.

To avoid leaf and fruit burn, do not apply the formulations in high air temperatures. To obtain the maximum effect, it is advisable to conduct treatments in the evening.

Treatment during the flowering period is not recommended.

LURS®colofermin boron has a significant physiological effect on plants, namely:
  • enhances development of the reproductive organs;
  • stimulates pollen germination, improves pollination of flowers;
  • decreases fruit drop, increases fruit formation;
  • increases activity of enzymes, activates protein and phosphorus metabolism;
  • provokes an intensive water absorption by plant from the soil;
  • increases drought resistance of plants by 20%;
  • provokes sugar accumulation in the tissues of winter crops and fruits of sugar beet, fruit, increases starch content in potatoes.
It is recommended for use in conjunction with VIMPEL ®plant growth stimulator.
